BANGKOK (NNT) - The Rao Chana financial aid scheme provides a total of 7,000 baht per person for a period of two months, to people affected by the COVID-19 situation, including those who have not received privileges from the government. Since January 29, some 10 million people have registered, 5.77 million of whom are qualified to receive the subsidies.
The Spokeswoman for the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Kulaya Tantitemit, said that the third group of eligible people, are those who have never used the half-half co-payment and We Travel Together privileges.
After registration opened on January 29, 5.77 million applicants have been screened and are eligible for payments. Registration will remain open until February 12. Currently, there are 27 million eligible recipients, including state welfare card holders and people who have confirmed their identities via the Pao Tang mobile application.
People whose information is in the database and new registrants can check their eligibility on the เราชนะ.com website. If they are eligible, they will receive the first installment of 2,000 baht on February 18, followed by weekly installments every Thursday until the 7,000-baht quota is reached. If they are ineligible, they can make a revision request on the same website until March 8.
New registrants, who received a text message indicating an unsuccessful registration, may have provided wrong identification numbers, codes, names and dates of birth. They can visit the website to register again until February 12.
If shop owners and the public are found to have violated the scheme’s conditions, their privileges will be revoked immediately and they may face legal action. They are advised to follow the conditions, in order to protect their privileges.
